Whatnot CSV Template: Where to Get It and How to Fill It In (2026)

If you want to put more than a handful of items on Whatnot, you will end up at the bulk upload template. It is the fastest way to get 50 or 500 listings into your account, but it only works if every cell matches what Whatnot expects. This guide shows where to get the current template, what is inside it, and the exact values comic sellers should use.

Values in this guide were checked against the template on October 15, 2026. Whatnot updates the template, so always start from a fresh download.

Where to download the Whatnot CSV template

Get the template from Whatnot itself, not from a copy someone posted in a group. In your Whatnot Seller Hub, open the bulk listing upload. It links to Whatnot’s official template, which is a Google Sheet. Make your own copy of that sheet (or download it), fill it in, then save the Template tab as a CSV file to upload.

Why a fresh copy matters: the template changes. Between March and October 2026, Whatnot removed two top-level categories and added or removed about 60 subcategories. An old template can carry category names that no longer exist, and those rows fail.

What is inside the template

The workbook has four tabs:

The Template tab has 21 columns, in this order:

  1. Category
  2. Sub Category
  3. Title
  4. Description
  5. Quantity
  6. Type
  7. Price
  8. Shipping Profile
  9. Offerable
  10. Hazmat
  11. Condition
  12. Cost Per Item
  13. SKU
  14. Image URL 1 through Image URL 8

Keep the header row exactly as it comes. Do not rename, reorder or delete columns, even ones you leave blank.

The exact values for comics

Most failed uploads come from a cell that is close to right but not exact. For comics, these are the values in the current template:

Column Use exactly
Category Comics & Manga (with the ampersand, not “and”, and not “Comics”)
Sub Category Modern Comics, Vintage Comics, Comic Art, Anime & Manga or Pop Culture Memorabilia
Condition Graded, Gem Mint, Mint, Near Mint, Very Fine, Fine, Very Good, Good, Fair or Poor
Type Auction, Buy it Now or Giveaway
Hazmat Not Hazmat for comics

Graphic novels and trades are different. In the current template, Graphic Novels is a subcategory of Books, not of Comics & Manga, and its conditions are Brand New, Like New, Very Good, Good, Fair and Poor. If you put “Near Mint” on a graphic novel row, that row fails.

Shipping Profile

Shipping Profile is a weight range, written exactly as the Values tab lists it, for example 1-3 oz, 4-7 oz, 8-11 oz or 1 lb. Weigh one packed item (bag, board and mailer included) and pick the range it falls in. If you created a custom shipping profile in Whatnot, the template notes that you can type its name in this column instead.

A quick fill-in checklist

Skip the spreadsheet

Filling the template by hand is fine for a few dozen books. For a whole shipment or a long box, it is slow, and one wrong subcategory can sink a row. LiveSeller Pro builds the Whatnot file for you from a CLZ export, a distributor shipment file or a slab scan, with the category and cover images already filled in, so you review a finished file instead of starting from a blank sheet. See Exporting to Whatnot for how it works, or start with Comic Edition.
